Boys Basketball: Wildcats cruise to Tip Off win

HOPKINS--Three New London-Spicer boys scored in double figures and the Wildcats defeated Minneapolis Roosevelt 65-34 on Saturday in the 14th annual Breakdown Boys' Tip Off Classic.

HOPKINS-Three New London-Spicer boys scored in double figures and the Wildcats defeated Minneapolis Roosevelt 65-34 on Saturday in the 14th annual Breakdown Boys' Tip Off Classic.

NLS' Brandon Adelman scored 20 points, Ander Arnold scored 16 and Jake Poole finished with 11 points. The Wildcats had control of the game from the start, taking a 41-17 lead into halftime.

The Wildcats improved to 3-1 and take to the court next against Minnewaska at 7 p.m. Tuesday at New London-Spicer High School. See this web site and the Tribune's Monday E-edition for more on the game.

MACCRAY remained perfect on the season with an overtime win over Montevideo on Saturday in Clara City.

The Wolvervines' Trenten Cavaness had 21 points, nine rebounds and four assists, and Thomas Kirking and Blake Wadsworth both finished with 18 points. Brady Kienitz had eight points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Montevideo's Jackson Snell had 21 points, seven rebounds and three assists, Adam Root scored 13 points, and Sam Olson had 12 points and seven rebounds.

Jorgan Sagedahl scored 22 points and completed the double-double with 10 rebounds. Gavin Vosika finished just shy of a triple-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. He also had four steals.
