ALEXANDRIA - The Willmar boys basketball team battled their Cardinal foes from Alexandria in their quest for perfection Tuesday night and used a powerful offensive effort to take an 82-73 win.
Noah Slagter scored 27 points to lead the visiting Willmar team, pulling in eight rebounds to help the cause. Ty Roelofs, Ryan Slette, and Drey Dirksen all each finished with double-digit scores as well. Dirksen finished with the lone double-double for Willmar, adding 11 rebounds to his 11-point game. Roelofs finished just shy with 14 points and nine rebounds.
Willmar faced a tough opponent in Alexandria, spearheaded by Justin Balcome. Balcome led all scorers with 29 points and 14 rebounds.
Willmar, now 15-0, will head home for a visit from Sartell Friday night.
