Boys basketball: Wolverines take down Sting

CLARA CITY - MACCRAY sent Yellow Medicine East to its third straight loss, beating the Sting 80-66 in a non-conference game on Monday.
For the Wolverines, it was their third straight win, including beating Central Minnesota Christian on Friday to give the Bluejays just their second loss of the season.
Carter Asche scored 28 points for the Wolverines and grabbed 13 rebounds. Four others scored in double digits for MACCRAY: Jackson Grussing (13), Tyler Moffenbier (15), Tyler Plowman (12) and Connor Cronen (10).
Plowman added nine rebounds and three steals, and Moffenbier hit three 3-pointers.
YME’s Blake Lindstrom scored 28 points, with Chase Richter adding 21 and Tyson Velde 10.
Ted Sjurseth had eight rebounds, and Lindstrom picked up six assists.
The Wolverines (12-10) play at Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg today, and YME (7-15) hosts BOLD on Thursday.
