Boys Golf: Detroit Lakes cruises at the Minnewaska Early Bird

The Lakers shoot a 327 to open the season to beat four teams, including host Minnewaska, which shot a 348.


GLENWOOD — The Detroit Lakes boys golf team cruised to the victory Friday in the Minnewaska Early Bird Invitational.

The Lakers had a score of 327 to beat host Minnewaska by 21 strokes.

Medalist honors went to Lukas Justesen of Detroit Lakes, who shot a 78.

Minnewaska’s top scorer was Cole Harste, who had an 81.

Morris/Chokio-Alberta took fourth with 383 strokes. The Tigers’ top scorer was Charlie Hanson, who carded an 82.


Minnewaska’s next scheduled meet is 2 p.m. Friday, April 16 at the Lakeview Golf Course in Detroit Lakes.
