NEW LONDON -- New London-Spicer leapfrogged St. Cloud Cathedral in the final boys golf meet in the West Central North Conference to win the league title Thursday at Little Crow Country Club.
The Wildcats, who trailed the Crusaders by three points entering Thursday's meet, won the final event with a combined score of 150. The Crusaders, who were without their top golfer, Tyler McMurrow, finished sixth with a 174, allowing NL-Spicer to surpass them in the team standings, 58-56.
Joey Dreier of NLS was the medalist with a 36. Barret Freeland shot a 37, Joey Sisser a 38 and Reid Johnson a 39.
