ATWATER -- Paynesville had its best showing of the season, posting a 178 to top West Central South Conference leading Benson/KMS by four strokes Tuesday at Island Pine Golf Club.
Paynesville's best finish in five previous conference meets was fifth place.
Tanner Caldwell and Bobby Roos each shot 44 for the Bulldogs, while Matt Current and Cody Lieser each turned in a 45.
Mitch McCosh of Yellow Medicine East and Cole Mertens of BOLD were co-medalists, each with a 41.
