Boys Golf Roundup: Lakers win West Central Conference

Minnewaska won meets at Benson and Montevideo, shooting 160 at both, to win the West Central Conference on Tuesday.
The Lakers’ Brett Buckingham, Morris/Chokio-Alberta’s Jacob Zosel, Minnewaska’s Esten Stensrud and BOLD’s Ethan Weis all shot 38 to tie for first at Benson.
Buckingham, Zosel, Minnewaska’s Peter Frischmon and Melrose’s John Brang tied for first at Montevideo.
The Tigers finished second at Benson, and BOLD was second at Montevideo.

Austin Trustheim paced BBE with 41, and the Jaguars shot 186 to finish fifth.
The Jaguars finished fifth in the final conference team standings, and Jayden Miller was seventh and Trustheim 10th in individual conference standings.

Mound Westonka won its fourth conference meet of the season in the finale Tuesday on its home course to win the West title by 26 strokes over Dassel-Cokato.
Litchfield and New London-Spicer finished 4-5 in both the finale and in the team standings.
Litchfield’s Brandon Nelson finished fourth and Peter Hyberger 10th in the final individual standings. Pacing NLS on the season were Cole Baker (12th) and Ethan Bohlsen (13th).
Golfers finishing in the top nine received all-conference honors, while the next seven earned honorable mention.
