PEQUOT LAKES -- The Morris/Benson Area Storm got off to a fast start at the three-day Northern Lakes boys hockey tournament by edging Red Lake Falls 5-4 in Monday's opening game.
Brody Gimberlin's goal with 4:29 left in the second period put the Storm in front, 5-3. Storm goaltender Andrew Fath took it from there, stopping 10 of 11 Eagles' shots in the third period.
The Storm (4-2) meet the Northern Lakes Lightening today in the round-robin format.
Goals by Isaac Berens and Tanner Picht put MBA in front 2-1 after one period. Mac Beyer upped the Storm lead to 4-1 on back-to-back goals in the first 2:03 of the second period.
The Eagles answered with two goal of their own to pull within one again before Gimberlin's shot provided a two-goal cushion into the last period.

Fath stopped 22 shots as the Storm were outgunned, 26-17.
