WILLMAR -- Zech Streed scored twice on the power play around a goal by Liam Johnston as Willmar outskated St. Cloud Apollo 3-1 in boys hockey on Thursday night at the Civic Center.

"It's both a Central Lakes Conference and section win," said Cardinals' head coach Dan Tollefson. "We had two power play goals and skated off all seven of their power plays. We were getting a little tired."

When at full strength, Willmar (8-3-3, 12-7-3) hogged the puck. The Cardinals outshot the Eagles 45-26.

Willmar led 1-0 on Streed's goal at 5:14 in the second period. Goalie Christian Yrttimaa whipped the puck up ice to Gabe Amon, who set up Streed.

The Eagles (2-10-2, 6-15-2) tied the game in the sixth minute of the third period on a unassisted goal by Jared Christian. Johnston, from Landon Peterson at 10:39, made it 2-1 and Streed, from Grant Schow and Amon, added insurance at 13:50.
