WILLMAR -- Led by Abshir Ahmed's four goals, the Willmar Cardinals tore through the Sauk Rapids' defense for a 7-0 win in Central Lakes Conference boys soccer on Thursday.
Willmar ((3-2, 5-3) ended a stretch of three games in four days by blitzing the Storm goalie with 27 shots.
Abdiqadir Yusuf scor-ed twice and Josh Wright once for the Cardinals. Liam Johnston had a pair of assists.
Sauk Rapids, on its own for the first time after having been paired with Sartell, put only four shots on Willmar goalie Josh Freitas. Willmar had 34 shots on goal.
