WILLMAR -- Despite playing on consecutive days, the Willmar offense continued to perform well, outkicking Alexandria 3-1 in a Central Lakes Conference boys soccer match on Tuesday.
Abshir Ahmend scored twice for the Cardinals (6-4, 8-5), both on assists from Abdinasir Abdi.
Badal Ali scored the opening goal for Willmar, just 1:24 into the match on a free kick from 25 yards out.
Willmar made it 2-0 at 30:33 when Ahmend scored from 15 yards out and padded its lead to 3-0 in the second half on Ahmend's header from from seven yards out.
Willmar blanked Sartell 4-0 on Monday.

"Our midfield play has really improved the last week," said Willmar coach Richard Courtney. "In this match, Trent Fader was strong at defensive center. Sweeper Josh Wright and goalie Steve Kluver also had a strong match."
