FERGUS FALLS -- Fergus Falls took advantage of a couple of defensive mistakes and dumped Willmar 3-1 on Monday in boys soccer.
The win was worth two points in the Central Lakes standings to the Otters, who improve to 5-1 and 7-2 overall.
"We controlled play about two-thirds of the game, but we made some defensive errors," said Willmar coach Richard Courtney. "Fergus is solid defensively with several real good athletes."
Trailing 3-0, Willmar (3-3, 6-4) didn't score until the 73rd minute on a Josh Wright penalty kick.
Shots on goal were 12-9 in favor of the home team.
