Boys soccer: Willmar pounds Brainerd

BRAINERD - Oscar Rivera and Nick McLouth both scored two goals and Ricardo Contreras and Fernando Zavala both assisted on two scores as Willmar routed Brainerd 7-0 in the final regular-season game on Thursday.
Nick McLouth, David Gomez and Alex McLouth scored first-goals, and Rivera and Nick McLouth sandwiched goals around a Felipe Rodriguez penalty kick as the Cardinals scored three goals in a four-minute span late in the game.
Jose Castillo spelled Manny Obregon in net and made four saves.
The Cardinals will learn their Section 2A playoff seed today.
