Boys Soccer: Willmar returns to form in blowout win over Fergus Falls

WILLMAR -- The Willmar boys soccer team bounced back from two tough losses with a 7-0 victory over Fergus Falls in a Central Lakes Conference match Thursday at Kennedy Field.

Marcos Nino and Teza Harrison both scored two goals and Jesus Nevarez scored a goal and assisted on two scores.
β€œWe needed a game like that after two tough losses,” Willmar head coach Jeff Winter said of the team’s losses to Mankato West and St. Cloud Apollo, the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in Class A. β€œWe were flat in practice (Wednesday), but when we got going (against Fergus Falls) we played really well.”
The Cardinals are off this weekend and travel to play Alexandria at 7 p.m. Monday.
