Boys Soccer: Willmar returns to form in blowout win over Fergus Falls

WILLMAR -- The Willmar boys soccer team bounced back from two tough losses with a 7-0 victory over Fergus Falls in a Central Lakes Conference match Thursday at Kennedy Field.

Marcos Nino and Teza Harrison both scored two goals and Jesus Nevarez scored a goal and assisted on two scores.
“We needed a game like that after two tough losses,” Willmar head coach Jeff Winter said of the team’s losses to Mankato West and St. Cloud Apollo, the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in Class A. “We were flat in practice (Wednesday), but when we got going (against Fergus Falls) we played really well.”
The Cardinals are off this weekend and travel to play Alexandria at 7 p.m. Monday.
