Sam Broderius, a sophomore at Gustavus Adolphus, was named the MIAC women's field athlete of the year Wednesday.
Broderius, from Hector, won the shot put with a throw of 44-8¾ and the discus with a 148-3 at the MIAC Championships Saturday. Both were NCAA provisional marks.
Her teammate, Kaelene Lundstrum from Bird Island, was named to the all-sportsmanship team.
