The Willmar Cardinals football team, and their fans, had a lot to smile about following a 20-19 victory over the Buffalo Bison in the final seconds at Hodapp Field on a mild summer evening. Willmar trailed 19-0 late in the third quarter but scored three times. Ryan Liimata kicked the go-ahead point with 9 seconds on the fourth-quarter clock. Official attendance for the exceptionally early opener (Aug. 22) was 760. video at wctrib.com
