HUTCHINSON - Willmar netted two power-play goals Thursday, but that would be all the scoring the Cardinals would get as they fell 4-2 in the quarterfinals of the Section 3A tournament.
Hutchinson, the tournament’s No. 3 seed, scored 6:21 into the game before Cooper Delp scored just over a minute later for No. 6 Willmar after getting passes from Riley Grabow and Nate Ackerman.
The Tigers answered four-and-a-half minutes later and would eventually stake a 2-1 lead after the first period.
Hutchinson scored again late in the second period and midway through the third to grab a comfortable 4-1 lead.
Isaac Kobienia scored with seven minutes remaining in the lead with Ackerman and Grabow again getting credited with the assists.
