Cards go 3-1 in postseason tune-up

Willmar places third at Moorhead Pumpkin Classic

MOORHEAD — With a 3-1 record, the Willmar volleyball team placed third at the Moorhead Pumpkin Classic.

The Cardinals were 2-0 in pool play with wins against Roseville and Nevis before taking a three-set loss to Moorhead. They rebounded and got the two-set win in the third-place match against Totino-Grace.

Bailey Olson led the Willmar attack with 40 kills, followed by 29 from Sophie Kobienia and 20 via Sydney Schnichels. Lydia Larson had 102 set assists, 25 digs and a trio of ace blocks while Abby Stark put up 44 digs for the Cardinals.

The Cardinals wrap up the regular season with an 18-9 record.
