BRAINERD -- Ridgewater capped the regular season by sweeping Central Lakes 12-1 and 9-3 in a MCAC baseball doubleheader Saturday.
The Warriors will take a 28-12 record into the state tournament that starts Thursday in St. Cloud. Ridgewater got the No. 2 seed and will play No. 7 Mesabi Range in the quarterfinals at noon on Joe Faber Field.
Luke Frauendienst and Shane Kampsen both went 4-for-5 in the opener get jumpstart the Warriors. Kampsen doubled three times with one driving in two runs in the fourth and another knocking in three to clear the bases in the seventh.
Cody Conners capped the scoring with a two-run homer as Ridgewater plated seven runs in the seventh.
Chris Braaten struck out four in three innings of relief to get the win.

Another home run capped the scoring for Ridgewater in the second game as Benji Hager slugged a grand slam in the seventh.
Frauendienst collected three more hits and Ryan Speltz earned the win after striking out seven and not giving up a hit in three innings of relief.
