College Football: Aerial attack propels Warriors' rout of Itasca in opener

WILLMAR -- Four different Ridgewater quarterbacks threw touchdown passes and wide receiver/kick returner Kevin Parks scored three times as the Warriors opened the MCAC season whipping Itasca College 47-8 Thursday evening.

WILLMAR - Four different Ridgewater quarterbacks threw touchdown passes and wide receiver/kick returner Kevin Parks scored three times as the Warriors opened the MCAC season whipping Itasca College  47-8 Thursday evening.

Starting quarterback Trevor Nystrom clicked with Parks on a 72-yard toss and run on the home team’s first play from scrimmage. Trevor Oswald (to Parks), Tony Ayala (to Eric Hudson) and Jeremiah Grimsley (to Jacob Sharp) followed with TD throws.

Running back Martell Martin logged 115 yards and a TD in 17 carries.

Up next for Ridgewater is a 3 p.m. road game in Ely next Saturday to play Vermilion.
