WILLMAR - Ridgewater College hired Lloyd Danzeisen as its next head football coach, the school announced Wednesday.
Danzeisen spent last season as offensive line coach at Wadena-Deer Creek High School. The bulk of his career came as the head coach at M State-Fergus Falls from 1983-2006.
He’s also had stints as assistant coach at Kimball, Perham, St. Cloud State, UM-Morris and University of Puget Sound.
“Coach Danzeisen brings a wealth of coaching experience at the NJCAA, NCAA and high school levels,” Ridgewater athletic director Todd Thorstad said.
Danzeisen replaces Rob Baumgarn, who resigned in June after nine seasons.
The Warriors’ first practice will take place Aug. 6, and the season opener is Aug. 29 at home against Mesabi Range.
Ridgewater finished in last place in the MCAC South last season with an 0-4 division record and a 1-7 overall record.
