BOTTINEAU, N.D. - Dane Massey and receiver Jusias Kalis connected on a 10-yard go-ahead scoring pass midway through the fourth quarter and Ridgewater held on for a 14-7 win over Dakota State on Saturday.
The Warriors improved to 3-2 in the MCAC Western Division and 4-3 overall.
They are tied with Dakota State (3-2, 4-3) for second in the division behind North Dakota State College of Science (5-0, 6-1), a 46-37 winner over Minnesota West on Saturday.
The Warriors play Rochester in the final regular season game at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hodapp Field in Willmar.
The Warriors had just 19 rushing yards and Massey connected on just 13 of 33 passes, but he threw for 159 yards and the TD to Kalis and an 11-yard scoring pass to Romello Boykin in the third quarter.
Dakota College rolled up 300 total yards and had a 29:08 to 14:02 time of possession advantage.
But the Warriors intercepted Lumberjacks quarterback Kendrick Gardner four times while turning the ball over just once.
Ridgewater’s Tavaris Bushner picked off two passes and Jebah Joe Doe and Brandon Brice both had interceptions.
The Lumberjacks also committed 19 penalties for 180 yards.
Kalis caught four passes for 65 yards and Tre Lewis also had four catches for 53 yards. Boykin made three receptions for 26 yards.
