WILLMAR - Ridgewater right-hander Heather Horning outdueled Minnesota West’s Christine Kazemba and supplied the game-winning hit in a 2-1 victory in Game One, but the Bluejays rebounded for a 6-5 comeback victory in the second game to earn a split of an MCAC doubleheader on Friday.

The Warriors are 9-9 in the MCAC Southern Division and are 19-12 overall.

Ridgewater did not qualify for regional postseason play and wraps up its season with two games against Fergus Falls beginning at noon today in Willmar.

In the first game, Horning worked all eight innings, allowing five hits and striking out eight.

With the scored knotted at 1-1 in the bottom of the eighth inning, Ridgewater’s Brielle Hauge doubled and, with one out, Horning came through with a double to left that brought home Hauge.

Hauge and Kenzie Long with had two hits and Courtney Olson doubled in four trips.

In Game Two, the Warriors rallied from a three-run deficit with a four-run fourth to take a 5-4 lead.

But the Bluejays scored twice in the sixth and Jurnea Harberts set the Warriors down in the sixth and seventh for the win.

Tasha Dallmann had two hits and drove in a run, and Long had two more hits. Brooke Wuertz and Hauge had RBIs.
