WILLMAR - After being held to five hits in the opener, Ridgewater bounced back to thrash the Blue Devils to manage a split in a MCAC Southern Division doubleheader Saturday.
The Warriors (4-4, 14-7) used a six-run third inning to take a comfortable 8-1 lead in the second game en route to collecting a 10-1 win. Ridgewater was blanked 4-0 in the first game after producing just five singles against Riverland starter Lexi Schunke.
The Warriors host Anoka-Ramsey for another conference twin bill on Tuesday starting at 3 p.m.

Haley Huls had two of the five hits for Ridgewater, singles in the fifth and seventh innings. Heather Horning struck out seven for the Warriors, but Riverland generated just enough to collect the win.

Courtney Olson slugged a pair of two-run homers - one in the first and another in the third - and singled in another run in the fourth to spark the Warriors. Tasha Dallmann gave up just two hits in a five-inning complete-game performance.

Ridgewater sent up 10 batters to the plate in the third and also got two hits from Brooke Wuertz, and a double and RBI from Horning.
