AUSTIN - Tegan VanMoer hammered down 11 kills in 13 errorless attacks and Jen Puncochar gave Ridgewater an additional 10 points from hits as the Lady Warriors swept Riverland 25-12, 25-19, 25-10 Wednesday in a MCAC Southern Division match.
It was the second time Ridgewater (10-1, 16-5) swept the Blue Devils this season. The Warriors are tied with Rochester on top of the conference standings and have only two conference matches remaining - both at home - after attending the Lake Sumter State College Tournament this weekend in Leesburg, Fla.
“It was great to close out our last divisional road match with a win,” said Ridgewater coach Joe Sussenguth. “We were patient with the style and tempo of play from our opponent, but we were able to execute when we needed to.”
VanMoer also chipped in 3 ace blocks, while Hailey Osland added 5 kills, 2 ace blocks and an ace serve. Also leading the Warriors were Tiffani Karbo with 30 assists, Tracy Braaten with 4 ace blocks and Taylor Sharpe with 10 digs.
