College volleyball: Warriors tie for 1st in South

WILLMAR - Ridgewater College and Rochester will play at 1 p.m. Saturday at Anoka-Ramsey to break a tie at the top of the MCAC South volleyball standings.
Ridgewater swept visiting Riverland College on Saturday while Rochester dispatched M State Fergus Falls.
Rochester is rated No. 1 nationally in NJCAA Division III and the Warriors No. 3. They split in the regular season, each time the match going five games.
The winner of the added match will host the Region 13A Tournament on Nov. 7-8, which will determine the national tournament entry.
In what may have been the final home match for seven sophomores, the Warriors polished off the Blue Devils 25-13, 25-10, 25-11 in under an hour at the college gymnasium.
Sophomore outside hitter Jen Puncochar delivered two ace serves, 11 kills and eight digs. Tracy Braaten hit for five points and Brenna Olsen seven. Mikayla Jacobson supplied 10 back-row digs. Kaitlyn Sterner and Catie Sherman combined for 25 set-ups.
Ridgewater (11-1, 17-9) plays an intra-division match at Anoka-Ramsey on Wednesday.
