WORTHINGTON - Ridgewater’s Chris Schmidt, Travis Cripe, Jacob Backlund and John Wittman all qualified for the NJCAA National Wrestling Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa on Feb. 27-28.
The Warriors placed seventh with 47.5 points at the district tournament Sunday at Minnesota West Community College. Iowa Central won the district with 171.5 points.
Schmidt won two matches to place fourth at 157 pounds, and Cripe won two matches for a fourth-place finish at 174 pounds.
Wittman won a match and placed sixth at 285 and 133-pounder Jacob Backlund also placed sixth to earn a national tournament spot.
