WILLMAR — The Ridgewater College softball team dropped a doubleheader to Rochester Technical & Community College on cold, wet Friday.
The Warriors lost 23-6 and 19-6. Both games ended after five innings because of the 10-run rule.
“We hit the ball really well,” Ridgewater head coach Datri Jensen said. “We struggle in the circle a little bit. We don’t have a lot of true pitching. But when we’re pitching, we made too many errors.
“We’ve got to eliminate those errors in the first game. We minimized them in the second game.”
Ridgewater had seven errors in the first game and three in the second.

In the first game, Zola Olson went 2-for-2 with two triples, three RBI and two runs for the Warriors. She’s a freshman from Montevideo. Hallie Redding was 2-for-3 with a run and a stolen base. She’s a freshman from Barnesville.
In the second game, Redding went 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, a run and an RBI. Angie Weller was 2-for-4 with a double and a run. Weller is a freshman from New York Mills.
Ridgewater is host to Riverland beginning at noon Saturday for a doubleheader. The teams play twice more beginning at noon Sunday in Willmar.
