WILLMAR — The Willmar Stingers announced on Wednesday that former Minnesota Twins closing pitcher Eddie Guardado will be the guest for the team’s home opener against the Eau Claire Express on Wednesday, June 1 at Bill Taunton Stadium.
Fans will have an opportunity to meet Guardado, take photos and get an autograph when gates open at 6 p.m. The first 500 fans will also receive a 2022 magnet schedule. There also will be a post-game fireworks display.
Guardado played 12 seasons for the Twins (1993-2003, ‘08), helping the team to two straight American League Central Division titles in ‘02 and ‘03. He was elected to the Twins Hall of Fame in 2013.
