SPICER -- Scuba divers will be returning to Green Lake for a second annual Clean Day and Underwater Recovery Challenge on June 12.

The event's sponsor, Let's Go Fishing with Seniors is putting out a call for volunteer divers and others willing to lend a hand that day.

Volunteers filled a truck with discarded items pulled from the lake bottom last year, and anticipate finding as much again this year.

The divers will meet again at Saulsbury Beach in Spicer at 9 a.m., but the cleanup activities will take place in a new set of quadrants to be mapped out near the area.

The day will feature morning and afternoon dives, a noon lunch and 4 p.m. hog roast. Pontoon boats with volunteers aboard will assist the divers in the water.

A refresher dive will be held on Friday, June 11.

Like last year, divers are free to keep any of the "treasures" they may find on the lake bottom.
