The Minnesota College Athletic Conference has named Eric Riley, a freshman safety from Morris, Defensive Player of the Week in the South Division.

Riley intercepted two passes and ran a fumble back 62 yards for a score to help the Fergus Falls Spartans whip Vermilion 36-6 Saturday.

Riley ranks second in the South in interceptions (5) and fifth in solo tackles (16).
