Tracy (Engstrom) Cassano, a former Willmar Cardinals girls hockey standout who went on to play for the Minnesota Gophers, will be honored Saturday by the Minnesota Wild with an Excellence in Coaching award at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
Cassano will represent Section 3AA. She will receive an award in a pre-game ceremony before the Wild takes on the Chicago Blackhawks at 7 p.m.
Cassano, who graduated from Willmar in 1998, is the head girls hockey coach at Rosemount, which is currently 7-7-1.
