MONTEVIDEO -- Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City kept pace atop the West Central South Conference girls basketball standings with a 59-49 win over Montevideo Thursday.
The Falcons (7-1, 8-5) are tied with Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta and Minnewaska for first place in the league. Yellow Medicine East is 5-2.
Kayla Dallmann posted a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds for ACGC. Liberty Slinden scored a game-high 16 points and Lauren Kinzler tallied 14 points and made three 3-pointers.
Beka Schwendemann recorded 15 points for the Thunder Hawks (3-6, 3-10). Brooke Tastad added 13 points and seven rebounds.

The Sting (5-2, 6-4) came back from a 10-point halftime deficit to lead by eight points in the second half.
Benson cut the lead to one point with six seconds left on Abby Fragodt's second three-pointer, but YME made one free throw for a two-point advantage and Benson couldn't get another shot off.
Aimee Johnson scored 17 points, dished out six assists and collected six steals for YME. Lauren Trudel added 12 points. Jamie Baker and Macy McKay grabbed eight rebounds each.

Fragodt and Jenny Bouta both posted double-doubles for the Braves (4-5, 8-6). Bouta had 21 points and 10 rebounds, and Fragodt had 20 points and 10 boards.
