BELGRADE - A common theme during most coaches' halftime speeches revolve around defense. To say BBE's girls basketball team listened Tuesday night would be a gross understatement.
The Jaguars defeated Parkers Prairie 51-27 behind a powerful second half where they outscored the Panthers, who started the game with an 11-1 record, 30-5.
Macie Kirckof and Nicole Wesbur provided plenty of interior defense and were important contributors on the offensive end as well. Kirckof led the Jaguars with 18 points and 11 rebounds while Wesbur tallied nine points and as many rebounds.
The game went as the BBE defense dictated. A heavy-pressing defense stifled Panther dribblers at every level of the court throughout the night and particularly in the second half.
BBE now moves to 11-4 on the season with a new impressive win to add to the resume. The team's four losses have come by four different teams with a combined 46-5 record.

BBE entered the game ranked No. 17 based on QRF according to Minnesota-Scores.net but that will likely change if Thursday's game against Kimball follows suit with the Jaguars' win Tuesday night.
