CANBY -- Canby edged MACCRAY 54-53 in the Camden inter-conference girls basketball championship game Tuesday.

The Wolverines (18-4) held a 26-25 halftime lead.

The Lancers (21-3) tipped MACCRAY at the foul line, making 13 of 24. The Wolverines made 10 of 14.

Riley Nordgaard scored a game-high 27 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead Canby, which is the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Section 3A-North playoffs, which starts with a play-in round Thursday.

Alicia Koenen sank three 3-pointers and paced MACCRAY with 19 points. She was the only Wolverine in double figures.

MACCRAY is the No. 3 seed in the 3A-North playoffs. Both teams play Saturday at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall.

Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa took its only lead of the game, 55-54, with 1:30 left in the second half on a basket by Ashley Kirckof.

The Jaguars had a chance to increase their lead with :14 left but missed the front end of a one-and-one. Rockford's Shannon Ritten got the rebound and was fouled and made both shots at the other end. BBE didn't get a shot off in the remaining time.

Julie Hieserich led BBE (5-7, 9-15) with 19 points, five assists and four steals. Lauren Anderson added 12 points and eight rebounds.
