Girls Basketball: CMCS stymies BOLD in three OT's, 50-47

OLIVIA -- It took three overtimes, but Central Minnesota Christian topped BOLD 50-47 in their non-conference girls basketball game Tuesday.

The game was tied 41-41 at the end of regulation.

In the first overtime, BOLD scored a basket, then Jessica DeGroot stole the ball and scored a layup to send the game to a second overtime.

The teams each scored one basket in the second OT.

In the third OT, Lisa Ohden scored on a layup to tie the game at 47, then the Bluejays converted a three-point play to take the lead. The Warriors missed a three-point attempt to force another tie.

DeGroot led CMCS with 16 points. Erin Erickson pullded down 11 rebounds and Heather Blom had 10.

Brittany Dahlk scored 18 points and grabbed 24 boards for BOLD. Nikki Neisen had 14 points and nine rebounds, and Carly Sigurdson had 11 points.

Sarah Roering and Allie Ostrander combined for 41 of the Lakers' points. Roering led the way 21 and also had 10 rebounds to post a double-double. Ostrander followed with seven boards. Sarah Faehnrich had 12 points, including both of the team's three-pointers.

Benson 64, KMS 56

A quick 5-0 spurt in overtime ignited Benson as the Braves upended the Fighting Saints for the second time in a week. KMS was nearly held scoreless in the extra period as it got only a free throw with 10 seconds remaining.

Julia Ahrndt led a group of four players that scored in double figures for Benson with 13 points. Taylor Semler followed with 12, Emily Auch 11 and Abby Fragodt 10.

Sam Dunn had 13 points and Katelyn Lottman 11 for KMS, which had Tracy Braaten grab 11 rebounds.
