BENSON - The Lac qui Parle Valley girls basketball team awakened its slumbering offense in the second half and defeated Benson 47-26 on Monday in a non-conference game at Benson High School.
The Eagles improved to 18-3 overall and plays at Renville County West today at 7:30 p.m.
The Braves took a 10-2 lead midway through the first half and the Eagles recovered enough to trail by just one-point, 13-12, at halftime.
The Eagles ramped it up in the second half, led by Kelsea Lund, who finished with 14 points.
Alaysia Freetly scored 10 points and had six rebounds and four steals, and Kaitlin Connor finished with 11 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Eagles.

Benson’s Amanda Nissen scored 12 points and Danielle Himley pulled down nine rebounds.
The Braves, now 1-21, play at Hancock at 7:30 p.m. Thursday for another non-conference game.
