MORRIS - The No. 5-seed Minnewaska Lakers advanced to the Section 6AA-South semifinals, beating Morris/Chokio-Alberta 55-36 on Thursday in Morris.
Minnewaska (13-14) will face top seed New London-Spicer at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s University in Collegeville.
Ariel Ostrander led a balanced Laker offense with 11 points, with Bayley Pooler and Carley Stewart at 10 points each and Madison Phillips and Taylor Amundson with 9 each.
The Tigers were done in by poor shooting, going 21 percent from the field and having one stretch of 8-for-52.
They finish with a 16-10 record.

MCA lost three of four to end the regular season, but beat Minnewaska twice during the regular season by a combined 34 points.
Beth Holland notched 11 points for the Tigers, and Kaitlin Vogel and Abbie Olson had 6 each.
