Girls Basketball: Litchfield cruises to home-opening win

Dragons handle Dassel-Cokato 54-25 in Saturday's opener

LITCHFIELD — The Litchfield girls basketball team opened the 2021 season with a 54-25 victory over Dassel-Cokato on Saturday.

Litchfield led 28-18 at halftime, then opened up a wide lead in the second half.

Sydney McCann led the Dragons with 14 points, four assists and four steals. She also had seven rebounds. Lily Osterberg had 11 points and Janessa Olson added 10 for Litch.

Maggie Boerema contributed 10 rebounds and six points.

BOLD trailed by five with about two minutes left, but was able to cut it to two with 30 seconds to go. Mari Ryberg then hit a 3-pointer to put the Warriors up. Ryberg then got the ball back and Ryberg made two free throws to put BOLD up by three with 12 seconds left.
