Girls Basketball: MACCRAY holds off No. 7 BLH

CLARA CITY -- Jenna Tebben's made both sides of a 1-and-1 with eight seconds left and the MACCRAY Wolverines held on to spill Class A's No. 7 Buffalo Lake-Hector 52-49 on Monday.

The Mustangs (11-2), who had trailed by as many as 12 in the second half, were unable to set up for a possible tying three-pointer in the final moments.

Karlee Ilgen had banked in the Mustangs' only three-pointer of the night with 40 seconds left to pull within one at 50-49.

Teagan Molden, who hit two big free throws in the last 90 seconds, led the Wolverines (10-2) with 14 points. Tebben and Kailee Epema each finished with 10 points. Tebben also supplied eight rebounds and four blocks.

Rachel Anderson added 14 points and seven boards. Julie Hieserich had 12 points and Shyann Kuefler 11.

Erika Schlangen and Jordan Spaulding recorded 10 points each for the Bulldogs.
