MACCRAY and Kerkhoven-MurdockSunburg won quarterfinals games in the Section 3A-North girls basketball tournament on Saturday.

KMS faced top-seeded Canby at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Southwest Minnesota State in Marshall in the semifinals. MACCRAY will play No. 2 Minneota at 7:30 p.m.

MACCRAY 66, Wabasso 60

MACCRAY bolted to a 14-1 lead, then saw its lead wiped out and trailed 44-41 in the second half before counter-punching and knocking out Wabasso.

Teagan Molden paced the Wolverines (22-3) with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Alicia Koenen had 13 points and eight assists, Jenna Tebben and 13 points and Abbey Thissen had nine points and 15 rebounds.

Kimberly Frank led all scorers with 23 points for Wabasso (11-13).

The Fighting Saints (12-12) beat back a couple of rallies from the Blackjacks (13-11) in the second half after extending a 32-26 halftime lead to 11 points.

Dawson-Boyd cut the lead to two points on a couple of occasions.

Britta Diem sank four 3-pointers and led KMS with 14 points. Katelyn Lottman followed with nine points and eight rebounds, Samantha Dunn had nine points and Tracy Braaten hooked 14 boards.

The Blackjacks' Kendra Lindblad led all scorers with 21 points, followed by Mariah Kuhlmann with 16.
