Girls Basketball: Minneota cools off MACCRAY

CLARA CITY -- Minneota junior Ashlynn Muhl scored 29 points, including the 1,000th of her career, to help the Vikings beat MACCRAY 68-52 and snap the Wolverines' 14-game winning streak Friday in a Camden Conference girls basketball game.

Muhl achieved her milestone on an offensive putback late in the first half. The 5-foot-10 forward had 16 points in the first half to help Minneota (9-2, 17-3) take a 38-28 halftime lead.

Just four players scored for the Vikings with Samantha Hennen adding 15, Kelsey Hennen 13 and Taya Kockelman 11.

Teagan Molden netted a team-high 16 points for MACCRAY (12-2, 16-3), while Alicia Koenen followed with 11.

Leading 19-16 at halftime, the Jaguars erupted for 35 second-half points.

Morgan Elliot scored a career-high 21 points and also had four steals to lead RCW. Tabby Wittenberg added nine points and five assists. Amber Jansen also had nine points.
