Montevideo, Lac qui Parle Valley, Yellow Medicine East and Minnesota Valley Lutheran all advanced Saturday to the semifinals of the Section 3AA-North girls basketball tournament.
Top-seeded MVL will battle No. 4 seed YME at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Redwood Falls. No. 2 Montevideo and No. 3 LQPV meet at 7:30 p.m.
LQPV and Montevideo split their two West Central South Conference series this season, each winning at home.

Beka Schwendemann scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lift the Thunder Hawks (12-12).

Shelby Monahan followed with nine points, all on three-pointers, and Karrissa Larson added eight points and 14 rebounds.
Brittany Dahlk scored 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Warriors (5-21). Brittany Nissen contributed nine points and eight boards.

Lac qui Parle Valley led 34-21 at halftime and went ahead by as many at 15 points in the second half before having to thwart a late comeback by Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop.

GFW (6-18) closed within 50-46 with 2:52 remaining, but would get no closer as the Eagles (10-13) closed out on a 15-5 run.
LQPV cashed 19-of-21 free throws in the second and 23-of-29 for the game.
Micaela Erickson had 19 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals for LQPV. Jen Kack added 13 points and Kacey Struxness finished with 12.
Mikell Melius led GFW with 20 points.
