KERKHOVEN -- Karlee Ilgen tossed in a game-high 23 points and also made four steals as Buffalo Lake-Hector defeated Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 60-45 in a non-conference girls basketball game on Saturday.
KMS (10-12) led 26-24 before the Mustangs (21-4) went on an 11-0 run to end the first half leading 35-26.
Maija Mikkola added 11 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Mustangs. Bobbie Uecker pulled down 10 rebounds to go along with her five points.
Katelyn Lottman had 10 points and eight rebounds for the Fighting Saints. Sam Dunn, Ashley Carlson and Ali Clark had eight points apiece.

Hancock 53, Minnewaska 50
MORRIS -- Bree Holleman scored 16 points and dished out 12 assists to help Hancock fend off Minnewaska 53-50 Saturday in a non-conference girls basketball game at the University of Minnesota-Morris campus.
The Owls (20-3) had a slim 30-27 lead at halftime stretch to 10 to open the second half before Minnewaska (8-15) got within striking distance. The Owls made some free throws down the stretch to stay in front.
Illissa Koehl added 10 points for the Owls while Minnewaska had Sarah Faehnrich net 13 points, Sarah Roering 12 and Allie Ostrander 10.
