MONTEVIDEO - A close game at halftime turned into a 63-40 win for Montevideo over Yellow Medicine East on Monday.
The visiting Sting had three players score in double figures - Chyanne Sand with 16, Britanna Raddatz 13 and Makayla Dyrdahl 10 - but the Thunder Hawks were more balanced offensively.
Abby Olson had 15 points, seven steals and four assists, Nikki Erickson netted 12 points, and Erin Balken chipped in nine points and seven rebounds for Montevideo.
Sand and Dyrdahl finished with double-doubles as Sand hooked 14 rebounds and Dyrdahl grabbed another 11.
