Girls Basketball: Sand leads YME to win

OLIVIA -- Chayanne Sand tacked on 19 points, Makayla Drydahl 16, and Jordan Hinz 14 as Yellow Medicine East cruised past BOLD in their final West Central Conference regular season game 66-36.

The Warriors struggled from the floor shooting at a 29 percent clip. A substantial free throw disparity between the two teams with Yellow Medicine East taking 17 free throws compared to the Warriors six.
Up next for both teams will be the Section 3AA Class AA playoffs on Friday at 7 p.m., as BOLD is the No. 8 seed taking on No. 1 Redwood Valley, with No. 2 Yellow Medicine East hosting No. 7 Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop.

A big second half propelled Lac qui Parley Valley to a win over the Lakers and prepped the Eagles for their Section 3AA playoff opener on Friday.
Kelsea Lund hit six 3-point shots and scored 28 points to help the Eagles open up on what was a seven-point lead at the half.
Kaitlin Connor scored 11 points and Alaysia Freetly scored nine as LQPV upped its record to 21-4. The Eagles open the playoffs hosting Montevideio on Friday.
Minnewaska’s Bayley Pooler scored 15 points. The Lakers wrap up the regular season against Benson at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Glenwood.
