MONTEVIDEO -- Beka Schwendemann's two free throws with 20 seconds left iced a 42-40 victory for Montevideo against Minnewaska in West Central South girls basketball Thursday.
The Thunder Hawks (5-5, 7-7) trailed 24-21 at halftime.
Schwendemann finished with 17 points to pace Montevideo. Brooke Tastad had 11 points.
Allie Ostrander had 13 points and Sarah Roering added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Lakers (3-7, 5-11)

Mary Rentz made two free throws with 28 seconds left in the second half to send the game into overtime for Morris/Cho-kio-Alberta. She then scored six of the Tigers' eight points in the extra period to finish the night with 15 points. Rentz made her last five free throw attempts after missing her first two.
Jenna Nelson had three 3-pointers en route to netting 15 of her game-high 21 points in the first half to help give the Tigers (11-4) a slim five-point lead at halftime.
