NEW LONDON - It was a tale of two halves for the New London-Spicer girls basketball team against Watertown-Mayer on Friday night.
The first, good; the second, not so much.
The Royals turned a nine-point halftime deficit into a double-digit win over the Wildcats on Friday night, 64-54, at New London-Spicer High School.
W-M doubled up NLS' point total in the second half, 38-19.
Shea Oman scored a game-high 28 points for the Wildcats, who couldn't replicate their first-half success from the field over the final 18 minutes.

Mackenzie Rich and Emma Hanson each added 12 points for NLS, which had a tough time replacing Payton Mages, who was missing her first game after tearing her ACL at Litchfield.
Monica Czinano was tough to stop in the post for the Royals, scoring a team-best 19 points.
The Wildcats are back in action on Tuesday at Glencoe-Silver Lake.

Madi Linbo led all scorers with 15 points, tied with Zimmerman's Alyssa Daugherty but it was the team's combined performance, as usual, that led to the Cardinal victory.
Abby Berskow, Hannah Johnson and Carly Wedel each finished with double-digit points. Linbo added a team-high seven rebounds and Johnson finished with 11 points, five rebounds, four assists, and seven steals.
