NEW LONDON -- By limiting Montevideo to just four field goals in the second half, New London-Spicer won its sixth straight by upending the Thunder Hawks 44-24 in a non-conference girls basketball game Tuesday.
The Wildcats (19-2) led by eight at halftime, 24-16, but their defense surrendered only eight points in the second half.
Karli Wendlandt had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Justine Dammermann added 13 points. Cassie Ziemer and Taylor Thompsen made three steals apiece.
Beka Schwendemann had 12 points and six rebounds for Montevideo (8-10).
