WARROAD - The Willmar girls hockey team couldn’t generate any offense and lost to Apple Valley 5-0 on Saturday in the Warroad Holiday Classic.

Apple Valley outshot the Cardinals 47-14 and finally wore down goalie Savana Knutson and the Willmar defense, scoring three goals in a four-minute span late in the third period.

Willmar fell to 4-9 overall and after a break on Sunday, takes on Dodge County at 5 p.m. today in Warroad.

The Cardinals then play the host team at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
